As COVID-19 affects our community, there is a substantial increase in demand for the personal protective equipment (PPE). In addition to the volunteer works in the past few months, the Westchester Association of Chinese Americans (WACA) also contributed $5,000 to purchase 7,000 masks , and donated these masks to 9 organizations that are in urgent needs.
WACA really appreciates Dr. Jun Xu and the Association of Chinese American Physicians (ACAP) for their great efforts to make it happen.
During the Coronavirus Pandemic, the procurement and delivery of PPE become extremely challenging . Despite a variety of difficulties, Ms. Brenda Sun from WACA, working closely with Dr. Jun Xu from ACAP, made timely delivery of these masks to the organizations of Another Step, Cabrini-Eldercare, Cedar Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Lifting up Westchester, Neighbors link, Sutton Park Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation, Tarrytown Hall Care Center, Theodore Young Community Center, and Trinity United Methodist Church.
As a non-profit Organization in our community, we are wholeheartedly thankful to everyone who supports WACA. We are very proud of our Board members, their family and our friends. We are from community, and for community. Together, we can do better and more to serve our community.
Dear friends, colleagues and community leaders:
In response to Coronavirus pandemic, Purchase College and the Performing Arts Center (PAC) have informed us that all scheduled events in PAC for the Spring Semester have been canceled, including our event scheduled for May 17. We fully understand the current situation and have also canceled our event. Let’s follow the CDC guidelines and overcome this challenging time. So we can get together again.
If you ordered the tickets from EventBrite and wish to get refund, you can request it from the link in your original email or on Eventbrite site. Any refund request will be handled based on the Eventbrite policy and process.
We have scheduled our next year celebration on February 13, 2021. If you wish to keep your tickets, we will honor them for the 2021 New Year Festival.
If you have paid for an Ad or a table for the event, we will place your Ad on our website for free for one year, and will honor it for the next year’s event. If you wish to get a refund, please let us know. It may have to be processed after the coronavirus pandemic is over.
We sincerely appreciate your understanding and your continuous support. Hope to see you all in the next year Festival.
Stay safe and be healthy!
The Westchester Association of Chinese Americans (WACA)
Dear friends, colleagues and community leaders:
Greetings!
After much deliberation, the Board of Westchester Association of Chinese Americans decides to reschedule its annual New Year Celebrations from February 8, 2020 to May 17, 2020. The rescheduled event will take place at the same venue: the Performing Arts Center at SUNY Purchase College. All sold tickets, sponsors and supporters will be valid and accepted for the event at the new date.
We regret to have to reschedule due to the outbreak caused by a novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV). The public health of our children and our community at large should always come first.
Thank you for your understanding and continued support. We look forward to welcoming you to our event in May. Please be safe and healthy.
Sincerely,
Westchester Association of Chinese Americans (WACA)
